Organic Australian Raw Honey

Available in a 500g or 1kg glass jar, 100% organic raw honey is presented in its purest form. It’s free from dairy, sugar cane, egg and wheat and is low in fat and sodium. Honest to Goodness Organic Honey is naturally rich in enzymes, antioxidants, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals and has prebiotic properties. Organic Australian raw honey is an excellent energy source to add to your pre-workout smoothies or to replace sugar in your cup of coffee or tea.

Insecticide-free Almonds

Insecticide-free almonds are grown without any synthetic pesticides. Additionally, no artificial chemicals are used in the processing or storing stages. Raw almonds are perfect as a healthy snack; add them to your stir-fry or toss them in with a salad. Almonds are creamy in texture, providing a natural source of dietary fibre, protein, vitamin E and more delicious benefits.

Organic Australian Ghee

Organic ghee is made from grass-fed Australian cows milk. Heat is used to remove milk solids, leaving behind oil. Also known as clarified butter, it’s packed with flavour and simple to digest. Forming part of Indian cuisine, it’s frequently used to replace butter and oils for baking, frying and roasting. There is no need to refrigerate; it can be stored at room temperature. It’s especially suitable for keto and paleo diets, and with no added preservatives or GMOs.

Australian Macadamia Nuts

Australian macadamia nuts are healthy for your heart and pleasantly creamy. Addictively flavoursome, and with a little crunch, these nuts are great for granolas, salads, baked goods and dukkah, to name a few. They’re available unsalted and unroasted, with no GMOs or added preservatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who owns Honest to Goodness

Matt and Karen Ward established Honest to Goodness in 2002, and still operate and own the business. The couple wanted to produce affordable, healthy ingredients and food after their growing frustration with the lack of it in the food industry. Their journey began at growers’ markets in Sydney. They sold unpackaged dried fruits and nuts. Over time, Honest to Goodness has expanded to distributing more than 20 brands and supplying more than 1,000 products countrywide. As people become more health-conscious and make more considered food choices, Matt and Karen will continue to provide natural and organic products. Growing organic produce incorporates the best modern techniques with traditional agriculture, with minor intervention to produce nutritious products. It’s the foundation of organic farming, including plants, soil, food, the environment and people.

What is the meaning of ‘organic in-conversion’?

‘Organic in-conversion’ is when a farm product is in a three-year conversion period to becoming organic. Organic farming methods must be adhered to for a year before a product may be labelled organic in-conversion, and the farm must receive an audit and uphold specific requirements.

What is meant by ‘conventionally grown’?

‘Conventionally grown’ is an agricultural term that refers to edible plants. It’s the opposite of organically grown produce. The use of pesticides and fertilisers are often used for conventionally grown products, allowing out-of-season growth, longevity, more resistance and higher yield.

Why are organic flours and grains more susceptible to pests?

During the hotter months, these organic products are more vulnerable due to a lack of chemical residue protection. A product's current step in the process will significantly impact susceptibility to pests. Products such as whole grain, which is minimally processed, might contain microscopic eggs, but these eggs are mainly destroyed during flour milling. Pest-free food storage tips:Store in dry, cool conditions to ensure an effective storage method for organic products.Transfer your grain or flour from the paper or calico bags to an airtight container that won’t allow pests to get in. Ensure your storage environment is clean, with no possibility of cross-contamination from other products. Inspect packages before you store them to ensure they aren’t torn, which can cause infestation. Consider placing infested items in the freezer for up to four days.
