Raw Snickers Bar Recipe

Raw Snickers Bar Recipe
• Health advice
• Jun 02, 2014
This Snickers Bar is super healthy - and Yum! The typical brand-name 'Snickers bar' is loaded with corn syrup, partially hydrogenated soybean oils, artificial flavours, refined sugar and preservatives. We have created a healthy remix of the Snickers bar using nutritious ingredients. It’s a great treat for those following a paleo diet, vegans or anyone wanting a healthy snack alternative. It is gluten and dairy free too! In addition, the ingredients are high in the good fats, fibre and protein.

Raw Snickers Bar | Yummy & Healthy!

Nougat layer:

• 2 tbsp maca powder
• 1 cup almond meal
• ½ cup almond butter
• ½ cup tahini
• 3 tbsp coconut syrup (brown rice syrup, honey or agave syrup)
• ½ tsp vanilla extract

Caramel layer:

• 10 medjool dates
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp coconut oil
• ½ teaspoon Himalayan salt
• 1 tbsp coconut syrup

Nuts:

• 8 raw macadamias (chopped)
• 8 raw almonds (chopped)

Dark Chocolate Coating:

• 1 cup cacao powder
• ½ cup coconut oil (melted)
• ¼ tsp stevia powder
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the nougat ingredient: maca powder, almond meal, almond butter, tahini, chosen sweetener and vanilla until an even, dough-like consistency. It may even be necessary to knead with your hands like bread dough.
2. Spoon into a cake tin and press down evenly and place in the freezer to set while preparing the caramel and chocolate sauce.
3. In a food processor blend all the caramel ingredients: dates, vanilla, coconut oil, coconut syrup and salt until smooth
4. Spoon the caramel mix on top of the nougat base and sprinkle with chopped almonds and macadamia nuts for the crunchy Snickers texture and place back into the freezer to set.
5. Whisk together the chocolate coating: cacao powder, coconut oil, stevia and vanilla.
6. Remove the nougat and caramel from the freezer and cut into bite size pieces. Using a fork, gently dip the pieces into the chocolate source and place on a plate.
7. Leave the Snickers to set in the freezer for at least 10 minutes. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
